Manusmriti Dahan ke baad Dr. Ambedkar ke netritva mein chali samajik kranti ki lehar ruki nahi. 1930 mein Ambedkar ne Kalaram Mandir pravesh ke liye ek ahimsatmak satyagraha ka aahvaan kiya. Mahilayein, yuva, vriddh – sab is aandolan ka hissa ban gaye. Aise log bhi is aandolan mein shamil hue jo pehli baar apne samaj ke liye kisi sangharsh mein kadam rakh rahe the. Nashik ki sadkon par safed kapdon mein shantipurn satyagrahi chalte the, haathon mein jhanda nahi hota tha, aankhon mein narmi aur iradon mein dridhta hoti thi.
Jab yeh jatha Kalaram Mandir ke pravesh dwaar tak pahucha, to mandir prabandhak aur kuch dharmik samudaay ke logon ne unka virodh kiya. Police tainat thi. Dr. Ambedkar ne ek sabha mein kaha tha, “Yeh ladai mandir ke darwaze ke liye nahi hai. Yeh ladai us samaj ke darwaze ke liye hai jo humein ab tak bahar rakh raha tha. Mandir ka pravesh toh pratik hai – asli pravesh to samvedansheelta mein chahiye.”
Kalaram Mandir Satyagraha ne ek baat spasht kar di – jaati ke viruddh ladai ab keval lekhani tak simit nahi thi, yeh ladai ab dharmik sanrakshan ke roop mein chhupe bhedbhaav se takra rahi thi. Logon ke mann mein bhagwan ke liye astha thi, lekin ab wo astha apmaan ke saath nahi jeeni thi.
Is aandolan ne samaj ko bata diya ki Ambedkar ka sangharsh sirf kanoon banane tak nahi, har us jagah pahuchna tha jahan se bhedbhaav ki jadd shuru hoti thi. Aur aisi har jadd tak Ambedkar ka kadam ab bina ruke jaane wala tha.
Kalaram ke baad agla morcha tha rajneetik hakon ka – jahan baat sirf mandiron tak nahi, nirvachan aur pratinidhitva tak jaane wali thi.
